Count It!

Happy Monday Y’all! Get up, and get moving! Do something great today for you or someone else.

Disclaimer: this post is long and full of pictures. It’s a “healthy” post.

Sometimes I think that I’m the only person in the house who actually wants to eat healthy. Other times I’m the most unhealthy eater. It all depends on my hormones lol. Saturday Hubby and I went out to JCPenny to exchange some of those Chucks I posted about a few posts back. I got red, an aqua-ish color, and with the rest of the credit we got a Ninja Blender. Then we went to Sam’s Club and got 3 different kinds of apples, a watermelon, oranges, lemons, kale medley, strawberries, bananas, grapes, and nuts to snack on. (All of the produce will be gone by next Saturday, because the kids will eat all the fruit.)

Today I’m going to show you what I typically eat for breakfast. I love tea. Specifically Green Tea. When we went to Disney in December I found the Wonderland Tea Assortment. I have transformed my Mr. Coffee coffee maker into a tea pot. Instead of boiling the water on the stove and having to rush over when the whistle blows, you can turn the coffee pot on and go about your business. I normally add 6 green tea bags, or 4 green tea bags, and 2 of whatever other flavor I’d like for the day. Today’s extra flavor was blueberry.

I swear by Green Tea. It promotes weight loss, whiter teeth, it gets you moving if ya know what I mean, and it’s loaded with all sorts of good stuff. As you can see the pot is full, to the brim, and I’ll finish it usually by lunch.

Ok now to what I ate for breakfast today. I drank 1 8oz cup of almond milk, one big mug of tea, ate an orange, 1/4 cup of almonds, and 2 kiwi fruit.

I put all of that into my Calorie Counter by Fat Secret app, and it told me I consumed 391-392 calories.

Then it breaks it down for you further.

I have a fatty liver so I try not to consume bad carbs. By bad carbs I mean breads, pastas, processed wheat flour, and that sort of stuff. Thankfully these carbs are from an all natural source aka fruit, so it’s processed a little differently. The last blood test that I had my levels were getting back to normal, but I try to not take any chances. I also eat eggs for more protein. Usually 4-6 when I eat them, and usually just the whites.

I try to keep my metabolism going all day long by eating 4-5 small meals. I have been trying to get all the protein that I’m supposed to eat in a day. Apparently none of us eats enough protein. I snack on mixed nuts, cashews, almonds, or I’ll make a green monster or other variety of smoothie. I have the app set to 1500 calories per day because I’m trying to drop some inches. (I don’t say pounds because I can weigh 225 pounds, like I do now, but by working out, lose inches, and no actual weight, and I’d still be happy.) Because of my Crohn’s I don’t eat gluten, drink pop, eat cheese very much, eat greasy foods, and I don’t drink alcohol. I like to believe those all contribute to people having no idea I weigh 225 pounds. All of those and also working out. I mostly do body weight workouts with some weights thrown in there.

Smoothies for breakfast are amazing! Any combination of: Spinach, Kale, Vanilla, Peanut Butter, Protein Powder, Greek Yogurt, frozen Banana, fruits, veggies, and Almond Milk. The possibilities are endless! You can pack an enormous amount of protein and other vital nutrients into smoothies.

Well, I have to get back to my day. Have a great day Y’all!
